New Jersey

New Jersey License Plates

The State of New jersey issued its first license plate in 1908. The New Jersey license plates issued between 1909 through 1915 were made of porcelain. From 1908, all New Jersey plates were dated with the exception of the 1956, 1959 and1979. 1991 to current issue were undated. The slogan "GARDEN STATE" and appeared first in 1959 and still appears on currently issued license plates. The first graphic to appear on New Jersey license plates was a map of the state which was embossed (stamped) between the letters and numbers. This graphic of the New Jersey state map is still embossed on current issue license plates.

The 1908 New Jersey license plate was a kit plate and was state issued. It consisted of a metal base with crimped edges meant to accommodate flat painted metal panels. Each digit was assembled and mounted along with a panel for the state’s abbreviation, date, and the manufacturer’s seal. The license plate manufacturer seal was also applied to porcelain license plates which were issued from 1909 to 1915.

New Jersey is a top antique car restoration state and has numerous antique auto collectors. In addition to being the home for many car enthusiasts, the state is a top venue for car shows.

Just wanted to express my thanx. The previous order was excellent and just what i was expecting from you guys. You people do and excellent job and one can always be happy and satisfy with the product that you all provide. On the text that i wrote i placed a space between the "cr753" and the "@". The reason that i included that space was because in the preview of the plate, it just didn't seemed to look correct without the space. If the space is not require for the plate to look like the one you guys have as a sample, please do not include the space.Once again, i would like to commend and thank you all for your excellent craftsmanship and service you provide. If you all ever are able to acquire the front plate holders for the front Italian plates, please don't hesitate to write me and email so i may be able to procure one from you guys... Thank you...
